Scott Kanter has been an attorney at the Hinshaw Law Firm since 2007 and a partner since 2020. He was admitted to practice law in California in 1998 and over the course of his career, his practice has encompassed a broad spectrum of litigation and jury trial experience. Mr. Kanter’s practice is devoted to the defense of physicians and healthcare professionals in medical malpractice actions including professional negligence, wrongful death, elder abuse/dependent adult neglect, intentional torts, and violations of federal and state civil rights claims. He has successfully defended a vast number of medical malpractice cases involving claimed injuries including paraplegia, delays in cancer diagnosis, birth injury, and sepsis, among many others.

He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Law and Society from University of California at Santa Barbara in 1994 and his law degree in 1998 from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. Scott is a member of the Santa Clara County Bar Association, and is admitted to practice law in all California state and appellate courts, as well as the Northern, Eastern, Central and Southern Districts of United States District Court.
